Southern Star has announced the production of Raggs, an innovative pre-school series combining live action and 3D animation, which is a co-operation between Southern Star Entertainment and Raggs LLC Production for the Seven Network Australia.
It will debut on Seven later this year.
Comprising 65 half-hour episodes, Raggs is about a group of five fun-loving dogs who perform in the Raggs Kids Club Band and hang out in their own kid-friendly Clubhouse. The show is a fast paced mix of music and dancing, specially created animations, concert performances, kids talking about their world, an amazing wild life segment and film clips of kids at play.
Southern Star Executive Producer Noel Price said, "Raggs is a wonderful opportunity for us to make a distinctly different, first class, pre-school series utilising outstanding talent in three countries, Australia, the U.S. and Singapore.
"Enormous care is being taken in every aspect of the production to ensure we deliver pre-school audiences a fresh, fun-filled and intelligently entertaining series that will stimulate, inform and delight."
Southern Star International will distribute the series worldwide outside of the U.S., where Raggs LLC Production will handle distribution.
"Australian kids are going to love Raggs as those five fun-loving, kid-friendly dogs sing, play and explore," said Janneen Faithfull, Seven's Head of Network Production.
"The dogs are joined by an opinionated cat with a definite attitude, providing another layer of comedy to the show. Seven was offered this opportunity from Southern Star International and is delighted to be partnering yet again on a new Australian production."

Raggs is currently in production and will be launched by Southern Star International at MIPCOM 2005.
